Description
Builds upon OSHA—Part I (a prerequisite for this course), providing safety personnel with detailed infor¬mation on safety requirements relating to employee work practices as specified in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Participants gain com¬prehensive knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations for Labor as codified at 29CFR Parts 1900 to 1910. They also are instructed on methods to evaluate existing programs required for OSHA compliance.
Objectives:
• Define terms and concepts related to OSHA.
• Identify various regulations applicable to the health care
workplace.
• Describe methods, which serve to comply with the
minimum regulatory standards as set forth in OSHA.
Instructor
Francis J. Roth, MS, CSP, has over 25 years experience in safety and fire protection, with the last 19 years dedicated to protecting the health care industry. As a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for Zurich Health, Safety, and Environmental Division, he is responsible for providing risk-engineering services to health care facilities, as well as other large accounts, in an effort to reduce losses and increase profitability at both the business site and corporate level. Fran earned his B.S. in Fire Prevention Technology from Cogswell College and his M.S. in Environmental Health/Industrial Hygiene from Temple University.
