Bridge the Gap

Program Description:
This program can help you understand how to conduct yourself professionally as a lawyer; how to interact and communicate with clients, opposing council, jurors, and court officials according to the Rules of Professional Conduct and the Code of Civility. In addition, you can learn how to manage your practice and perform fiduciary responsibilities in an equally appropriate manner that is in line with the Rules of Professional Conduct. Learn how and why to perform fiduciary responsibilities in an appropriate manner that is in line with the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Finally, learn the purpose and functions of the Disciplinary Board and
learn what resources are available to lawyers.

Instructor:
Robert Kinney, Esq., was recently appointed a Deputy Attorney General in the Environmental Law Practice Group of the Office of the Attorney General of New Jersey in Trenton. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Kinney was a solo practitioner in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, with a general practice concentrating on environmental law and land use. He began his legal career in 1992 as an Attorney-Advisor with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington, D.C. focusing on enforcement, regulatory policy and legislative matters under various environmental statutes, particularly the Clean Water Act (CWA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). In 1996 Mr. Kinney joined the law firm of LeBeouf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP (now Dewey LeBeouf LLP), where he was involved in regulatory compliance counseling, legislative activities, and litigation for clients on a variety of environmental law and hydroelectric energy matters.

From January, 1999, until August, 2004, Mr. Kinney was Chief Counsel and Environment Project Director for the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) in Washington, D.C. His work at NAAG concentrated on enhancing the working relationships between state attorneys general offices and federal environmental enforcement officials, as well as on developing and implementing legal training workshops and conferences for environmental litigators. He is a member of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, District of Columbia and Virginia bars, several federal bars, and the U.S. Supreme Court bar.
