Photoshop For the World Wide Web II §
CSE 5226-001 (1.5 CEUs)
This course will build on Photoshop For the World Wide Web I to help provide students with advanced skills needed to establish themselves as Photoshop pros. Topics will include using the vector graphics tools to make professional-level logos, tabs, and toolbars; working with paths from Illustrator and Freehand; and advanced layer blending effects. Workflow topics will include working "smart" so that you are ready for client changes, (e.g., making comps and storyboards and designing for modifiability). Layout topics will include using ImageReady to design standards-based and "stretchy" web pages. Students will also decode the JavaScript that ImageReady creates, and explore alternatives such as Dreamweaver extensions and hand-coded rollovers. Finally, we will touch on client-pleasers such as collages, rich user interfaces, and icons.
