Green & Global: Building Intercultural and Environmental Awareness in Elementary Education
This workshop capitalizes on current trends to promote a greener planet—the idea that green is the new black. Monica will reinforce the notion that children can learn, from a very young age, to see themselves as global citizens and protectors of our planet. This workshop will move beyond what children already know, namely recycling, and explore how we can reduce our carbon imprint by taking simple, daily steps. The workshop will show how all content areas, from Science to Social Studies, Mathematics to Writing, can be used to teach children to be green.
