Women's Basketball, 2007-2008

Penn State Abington's women's basketball program has been in existence for over 25 years. The Lady Lions are led by first-year coach Kathy Drysdale. Coach Drysdale is a former Lady Lion where she scored 1,295 points and pulled down 717 rebounds in her career as a Lady Lion. Coach Drysdale is excited to build the program and lead the team to the PSUAC Championship.

See a slideshow from our basketball games this season.

The Lady Lions are young this season (3 returning players and 9 newcomers) but they are still looking to match their 15-7 record from last season. This season they have a full schedule where they will play NCAA Division III schools such as Rosemont College, Rowan University and Penn State Harrisburg. Conference play this season will be just as tough as it has been in the past. They will be facing the 2007 PSUAC Champions in Penn State Brandywine twice this season as well as Penn State Schuylkill and Penn College, who were in the PSUAC Final Four.

Although the Lady Lions lost 4 players from last season, they are still looking to battle for the PSUAC Championship. The Lady Lions are being led by 3 returning players: leading scorer senior Shana Jordan (Philadelphia, PA); 3 point specialist Val Andruchiw (Chalfont, PA) and assist leader sophomore Meghan Yost (Holland, PA).

The Lady Lions eight newcomers are expected to bring excitement, experience and depth to this year's team. Sophomore Forward Tiarrya Bradley (Philadelphia, PA) will bring much needed presence to the inside game. Freshman forward Danielle Regan (Philadelphia, PA) is able to play both the post and guard position extremely well. Freshman swing man, Samantha Frick (Philadelphia, PA) will add another shooter to the team. Deanna Kelly (Philadelphia, PA) and Dragana Pesikan (Philadelphia, PA) both bring energy to the game. Freshman Jasmine Council (Philadelphia, PA) comes from an outstanding high school program and has great skill and speed. Freshman Lindsay Cappiello (Langhorne, PA) and Danielle Politsky (Harleysville, PA) will add depth to the guard position.

The Lady Lions play their games at the Penn State Abington Athletics Center off of Cloverly Lane in Abington, PA.
