Softball sweeps College of St. Elizabeth in crucial NEAC game

April 25, 2011 – Abington, PA – The Penn State Abington softball team hosted the College of St. Elizabeth today in a crucial NEAC doubleheader.  The Nittany Lions swept the Eagles (10-2 & 14-6), keeping their playoff hopes alive.  They improved to 7-25 overall and 7-13 in the NEAC while the College of St. Elizabeth remained winless as they dropped to 0-20 overall and 0-20 in conference play....read more.

April 23, 2011- Abington, PA- The softball team hosted Gallaudet University today in an important NEAC double header at Huntingdon Road Fields. April 21, 2011 – Middletown, PA – The Penn State Abington softball team travelled to Middletown, PA for a doubleheader game against NEAC opponent Penn State Harrisburg.  The Nittany Lions of Abington were swept by Harrisburg; 0-8 & 3-11 as they fell to 4-24 overall and 4-12 in the NEAC while Penn State Harrisburg improved to 20-14 overall and 15-5 in conference play.....read more.

March 29, 2011 - Morristown, NJ - The Penn State Abington softball team opened their conference play in Morristown, NJ today when they played the College of St. Elizabeth. The Nittany Lions shut out the Eagles in both games (10-0 & 13-0) as they improved to 2-12 overall and opened NEAC play 2-0 while the College of St. Elizabeth dropped to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference....read more.

 

Weekend of Softball has been Postponed

March 25, 2011 - Abington, PA - The Penn State Abington softball games that were scheduled for this weekend have been postponed due to the weather conditions. The game scheduled for Saturday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. against Gallaudet University has been postponed to April 23, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. The game on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. against Penn State Harrisburg has yet to be rescheduled.

March 24, 2011 - Abington, PA - The Penn State Abington softball game that was scheduled for today at 2:30 p.m. against Cedar Crest College has been canceled due to the field conditions from the weather. The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Huntingdon Road Fields.

The Penn State Abington’s softball team will have new leadership this year with first year head coach David Hoch. Coach Hoch comes to Penn State Abington after coaching at Archbishop Wood High School. He will look to translate his coaching success at the high school level, making the playoffs four out of five years, to the collegiate game.....read more.

Sept. 13. 2010 - ABINGTON, PA - Penn State Abington Director of Athletics Dr. Karen Weaver announced the hiring of David Hoch as the next head coach for softball.
