Women soccer lose to VFCC
Oct. 12, 2009 – Abington, PA – The Penn State Abington women’s soccer team was looking for their first win of the season as they hosted Valley Forge Christian College. The Patriots were able to stop that from happeneing as the Nittany Lions lose 1-2.
VFCC was the first to get on the scoreboard eight minutes into the game on a goal by Shauna Michael. The Nittany Lions were able to tie it up when freshman Kaitlin Kozole (Philadephia, PA / St. Hubert's) scored on an unassisted goal in the 51st minute. The game winning goal for the Patriots came in the 78th minute when Brannon Dayton scored on an unassisted goal.
In the net for the Nittany Lions was senior Jackie McCalister (Abington, PA / Abington Senior) who had 12 saves on the day.
The Nittany Lions fall to 0-10-1 on the season as the Patriots improve to 3-8-1.
Penn State Abington returns to action on Thursday when they host Penn State Berks in a NEAC Conference game. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
