Women’s soccer lose to SUNY-IT
Sept. 19, 2009 - Utica, NY - The women’s soccer team traveled to Utica, NY for their first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match-up against SUNY-IT. They lost the game 0-4 as they fall to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
“Although we got shut out today it certainly doesn’t tell you the true story about this team. These young ladies are true fighters and they will play until the very end,” said Head Coach David Castellanos. “Everytime they step onto the field I can see the improvements. They are working real well as a unit out there.”
In goal for the Nittany Lions was senior Jackie McCalister (Abington, PA / Abington) who had 10 saves.
The Nittany Lions are back in action on Thursday, September 24 as they travel to Dover, DE to take on non-conference opponent, Wesley College. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
