Women’s Cross Country Outlook
This is the inaugural year for the Penn State Abington women’s cross country team. They will be running under the leadership of Jose Rodriguez. The Lady Lions will run in 6 invitationals; which include the Philly Metro Invitational on September 26th in Fairmount Park. The team consists of sophomores Patricia Fernando (Philadelphia, PA / Central), Kathlene Kim (Pennsauken, NJ / Pennsauken) and Trisha Swiatek (Jamison, PA / Central Bucks East); juniors Amanda Agosto (Philadelphia, PA / Central), Marisol Fuentes (Philadelphia, PA / Parkway Center City) and Diana Rado (Philadelphia, PA / Northeast); and senior Dragana Pesikan (Sarajevo, Yugoslavia / Abraham Lincoln).
“I am excited to begin the season. I have been anticipating this time ever since we added women’s cross country as a varsity sport. The ladies have been working hard in order to make this inaugural year a successful one,” states Rodriguez. “I see a lot of talent in this team. I feel that we will compete in each one of our invitationals.”
The Lady Lions will open their season on Saturday, September 5th at the SUNY-IT Invitational in Utica, NY.
