WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TAKE ON 2 NCAA D-III OPPONENTS

ALLENTOWN, PA - The Women’s Volleyball team traveled to Allentown, PA to take on two very tough NCAA D-III opponents. They faced both Cedar Crest College and Misericordia University.
Their first match put them up against the host school in Cedar Crest College. Although they lost 0 – 3 (12-25, 19-25, 20-25) they played Cedar Crest extremely well. Leading the way for the Lady Lions was sophomore Jessica Kane (John W. Hallahan / Philadelphia, PA) who had a team high 11 kills to go along with her 3 aces and 5 digs. Junior Megan Sawicki (St. Hubert’s / Philadelphia, PA) had another impressive game with 21 assists and 10 digs. And sophomore Lauren Connell (Archbishop Wood / Horsham, PA) had a solid performance with 8 kills and 6 digs.
In the second match they faced Misericordia University, where they lost 0- 3 (9-25, 9-25, 8-25). The Lady Lions certainly didn’t play their best match of the season but nonetheless they gave it all they had and were able to combine for a total of 25 digs, 14 service returns and 9 kills.
