Women’s volleyball lose tough one at home
Sept. 22, 2009- Abington, PA - The women’s volleyball team hosted Valley Forge Christian College (VFCC) in a non-conference match-up at the Athletics Center. Even though the Nittany Lions won their first set of the season they lost the match 1-3 falling to 0-9 on the season.
Penn State Abington was led by junior Christina Fuentes (Philadelphia, PA / Lincoln) who had an impressive .545 attack percentage to go along with her 5 digs and 4 service aces. Sophomore Krysten Boyd (Philadephia, PA / Lincoln) had a solid match with 14 assists, 13 digs and 4 service aces.
VFCC combined for 21 kills on the night as well as serving up 18 aces. The Patriots were led by Meridyth Lanza who had an attack percentage of .429 and 12 digs.
The women’s volleyball team is back in action on Thursday, September, 24 when they travel to Downingtown, PA to take on Delaware Valley College. The game is schedule to start at 7:0 0 p.m.
