Women’s Tennis open season with loss at Philadelphia Bible
September 5, 2009 – Langhorne, PA – The Penn State Abington women’s tennis team opened their 2009-10 season at Philadelphia Biblical University, where they lost 2-7.
Penn State Abington knew they were going to face a tough team in Philadephia Bible but having to forfeit two of the nine matches due to lack of players was going to make it more challenging for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State Abington’s two wins came in both the #4 and #5 singles matches. PSA’s Michelle Czarny defeated Philadelphia Bible’s Hannah Maddox 6-4 and 6-1 and PSA’s Mary Worozbyst (Dunmore, PA / Dunmore) defeated Philadelphia Bible’s Tara Munro 6-0 and 6-1.
The women’s tennis team is back in action on Saturday, September 12 when they host Albright College. The match starts at 12:00 p.m.
