Men's soccer beat Morrisville State College
Oct. 25, 2009 – Abington, PA – The men's soccer team hosted Morrisville State College at Huntingdon Road Fields where they won 4-3. The Nittany Lions improve to 10-3 on the season and undeafeted against NEAC opponents while Morrsiville falls to 3-9-1.
The Nittany Lions found themselves behind 0-2 until sophomore Elsion Pajollari (Korce, Albania / Northeast) put them on the scoreboard with a goal in the 72nd minute on an assist from freshman Mohamed Mohamedein (Philadelphia, PA / Northeast). Five minutes later senior Liam Hopkins (Ambler, PA / Upper Dublin) scored off of a corner kick from sophomore Sebastian Hernandez (Bogota, Columbia / George Washington) to tie the game at 2 apiece. In the 85th minute Pajollari scored an unassited goal giving the Nittany Lions a 3-2 lead. Less than a minute later Hernandez had a corner kick that hit off a Morrisville defender that gave the Nittany Lions a 4-2 lead. Morrisville was then able to score again with 16 seconds left in the game giving the Penn State Abington a 4-3 win.
The Nittany Lions will be hosting SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday at Huntingdon Road Fields at 3:00 p.m.
