Men’s soccer lose home opener to #13 Swarthmore
Sept. 2, 2009 – Abington, PA – The Penn State Abington men’s soccer team opened their season with a 0-5 loss to #13 ranked Swarthmore College on Wednesday afternoon.
Although Penn State Abington had only 7 shots to the 27 shots from Swarthmore the game was very well played. “I was pleased with the effort and intensity of the match. My ultimate goal is to be able to play like Swarthmore College. They are a great team and it shows with their #13 ranking,” said Coach Castellanos.
In the net for Penn State Abington was freshman Daniel Carmack (California, MD / Leonardtown) who had an impressive 14 saves.
The Nittany lions will travel to Williamsport, PA on Tuesday, September 8th to take on Penn College. Kick-off is at 6:00 p.m.
