Men's Soccer shuts out Bryn Athyn College
September 16, 2011 – Abington, PA – The Penn State Abington men’s soccer team hosted Bryn Athyn College under the lights tonight at UGH. The Nittany Lions shut out the Lions 3-0 as they improved to 2-3 overall and Bryn Athyn College dropped to 0-3 overall.
It didn't take long for the Nittany Lions to get on the scoreboard in the first half. Less than 3 minutes into the game sophomore Aba Zoegar (Liberia / John Bartram) scored on an assist by junior Marco Paparo (Elkins Park, PA / Abington Senior). Penn State Abington then took a 2-0 lead at the 15:44 mark when freshman Alex Martins (Huntingdon Valley, PA / Lower Moreland) scored on a header from in the box assisted by Zoegar.

In the second half of action, the Nittany Lions were able to take a commanding 3-0 lead at the 57:21 mark when freshman Kayson McKenzie (St. Catherine, Jamaica / Northeast) scored his first collegiate unassisted goal.
The Nittany Lions continued their pressure on offense as they tallied 31 shots (17 SOG) while Bryn Athyn College only had 3 shots (2 SOG). Penn State Abington also had 9 corner kicks to the Bryn Athyn's 1.
In the net for Penn State Abington was junior Daniel Carmack (California, MD / Leonardtown) who had 1 save on the day in 74 minutes of action. Sophomore Kyle Ejsmont (Langhorne, PA / Neshaminy) played the remaining 16 minutes of play and registered one save as well.
The men’s soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 when they host Gwynedd Mercy College in a non-conference game. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
