Penn State Abington loses home opener to Alvernia University
March 18, 2009 – Abington, PA – The Penn State Abington men’s lacrosse team took on the Alvernia University Crusaders in their home opener, the first in school history. The Nittany Lions battled hard but lost the game 6-14.
The Nittany Lions were led by freshman Brett Graeff (Willow Street, PA / Lampeter-Starsburg) who had 3 goals and 1 assist and senior Bill Kelly (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury) who had 2 goals.
In net was freshman Ian Lydon (Cheltenham, PA / Cheltenham) who registered 15 saves for the Lions.
Penn State Abington returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Washington, DC to battle Catholic University. Game time is 12:00 p.m.
