Men’s Lacrosse ends season against Medaille College

April 23, 2011 – Abington, PA - The Penn State Abington men’s lacrosse team wrapped up their season today as they hosted Medaille College in a conference game at Huntingdon Road Fields in Abington, PA.  The Nittany Lions fell to the Mavericks 2-31 ending their season without a win, 0-15 overall and 0-6 in the conference while Medaille improved to 4-10 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

The Mavericks came out strong as they outscored the Nittany Lions in the first quarter 10-0.    Medaille continued with their strong offense as they didn’t let up scoring five more goals in the second quarter to take a 15-0 lead going into halftime.

In the third quarter, Medaille’s constant pressure resulted in outscoring Penn State Abington 11-1.  The Nittany Lions only goal came from sophomore Justin O’Brien (Philadelphia, PA / Northeast Catholic) who scored an unassisted goal at the 6:16 mark.

The fourth quarter saw much of the same as the Mavericks outscored the Nittany Lions resulting in 5 goals to Abington’s 1.  Penn State Abington’s second goal came from O’Brien as Abington lost 2-31.

In the net for Penn State Abington was freshman Trevor Jones (Apoka, FL / Apoka) who had 9 saves on the day.

The Nittany Lions finished their 3rd season 0-15 overall and 0-6 in the NEAC.
