Kathy Drysdale (Head Women’s Baskeball Coach)
Kathy Drysdale enters her third season as head coach for the Lady Lions. In her first two years as head coach Drysdale led her team to a Penn State University Athletics Conference (PSUAC) elite eight appearance.
Drysdale brings a wealth of experience in the game of basketball to her position. A former four year letterwinner at Penn State-University Park, Kathy led her team to great heights, becoming the first Penn State University women’s basketball team to be ranked #1 in the country. She scored 1,295 points scorer and grabbed over 800 rebounds throughout her career at Penn State. Kathy continued her basketball playing career in Germany in 1992, where she played for SSC Karlsruhe in Karlsruhe, Germany.
From 1995-97 she was an assistant coach at Holy Family University (Phila.) when they were in the NAIA D-II. She was the head coach of the freshman girls basketball team in 2006-07 at Harriton High School. From 2007-2009 she was the head coach for the Comets AAU organization where her team qualified for Nationals all three years. She also spent 13 years working for the Philadelphia 76ers organization, most recently as the Director of Game Operations.
Kathy and her partner, Dereck Lively, reside in Philadelphia, PA with their 5-year-old son, Dereck Lively, II and their dog, Thor (Rottweiler Mix).
