Members of the Penn State Abington baseball team are honored with post season awards
Abington, PA – Four members of the Penn State Abington baseball team were selected to the PSUAC All-Conference Team. Freshman John Schiavone (Pennridge / Perkasie, PA), junior Enrique Meletiche (W.B. Saul / Philadelphia, PA) and senior Michael Angelo (Conwell Egan / Bristol, PA) were selected to the All-Conference Team. Senior Alex Bragin (William Tenant / Southampton, PA) was named as an honorable mention selection. Schiavone was also selected as the PSUAC Newcomer of the Year. The Nittany Lions were lead by 1st year head coach Joe Pavlow. Pavlow was named Coach of the Year, an honor which he shares with the Penn College and PS Brandywine coaches.
The Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington played in the PSUAC Final Four. It was their first appearance in the final four since 2004. Eventual tournament champion, Penn College defeated Penn State Abington in the semi-finals by a score of 7-12. Penn State Abington then battled against conference rival Penn State Brandywine in the consolation bracket and came up short, where they lost 7-8.
The NIttany Lions finished their season 22-16 overall and 17-11 in the PSUAC.
