Sophomore Dan Hill selected as Student-Athlete of the Week in the NEAC
April 4, 2011 - Gansevoort, NY - Penn State Abington's sophomore Dan Hill (Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill, NJ) was selected as the NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 4, 2011.
"DANIEL HILL (Cherry Hill, NJ) was selected as the NEAC West Division Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week. Hill, a sophmore first base/pitcher for
the Penn State University – Abington Nittany Lions was selected for his performance on the mound and at the plate this week, leading his
team to a 5-1 week (2-0 in conference play). Hill averaged .389 at the plate going 7-for-18 with 7 hits, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, and 11 RBIs. He
had a slugging percentage of .833, 2 walks and an on-base percentage of .450. In the field, Hill had 37 put outs, 3 assist, and a fielding
percentage of .952. On the mound, Hill went 1-0 with 1 complete game and 1 complete game shutout, pitching 7 innings with 0 runs, 0 earned
runs, 8 strikeouts, and an opponent batting average of 0.000. Hill had a tremendous week for the Nittany Lions both on the mound and at the plate."
The Penn State Abington baseball team is currently 9-15 overall and 4-0 in the NEAC.
