Freshman Matt McCallister selected as Student-Athlete of the Week in the NEAC
March 7 , 2011 - Gansevoort, NY - Penn State Abington's freshman Matt McCallister (Warminster, PA / Archbishop Wood) was selected as the NEAC 
Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 6, 2011.
"Matt McCallister (Warminster, PA) was selected as the NEAC West Division Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week. McCallister, a freshman
pitcher for the Penn State-Abington Nittany Lions, was selected for his outstanding performance at the plate and on the mound this week
despite his team's record of 1-4 for the week and 1-6 record overall. McCallister averaged .285 at the plate over the five games, going 4-for-14
with 2 runs, 2 RBIs, and 2 doubles. On the mound, McCallister was 1-1 on the week, which included a no-hitter shutout in a win over Wilkes
University. He struck out 7 batters and allowed one walk.."
The Penn State Abington baseball team is currently 1-6 overall.
