This program is an overview of the fundamentals of finance and accounting for non-financial managers. The overriding goal of the program is to present a number of “nuts and bolts” financial concepts, providing managers with useable information, including basic accounting principles, budgeting and fundamental financial analysis tools. Participants will learn the language of finance, understand what accounting principles are generally accepted, interpret an organization’s financial statements and annual report, review budgeting tools, calculate a break-even scenario, and evaluate return on investments. This highly interactive workshop features case studies, a variety of planning exercises, and other activities designed with an action–learning focus.
