New Student Orientation (NSO) Includes Academic Advising and More

Students--Follow this Timeline:

          Late March--Watch for a communication with information about the

                   1. Educational Planning Survey*

                   2. Placement Tests (online, in math and chemistry, to help

                       you choose your courses)*

                    *You MUST complete the Planning Survey and the

                          Placement Tests before moving to the next steps

          Starting on May 1, -- The link to complete your "Pre-NSO Homework" will be

                    available, so you will be ready for your Advising Session

          May-August -- Attend New Student Orientation at the Penn State Abington

                    campus to meet with an academic adviser, discuss your academic

                    choices, learn about student life, and schedule your courses. 

           Note that STUDENTS BEGINNING DURING SUMMER 2013 will attend New

                    Student Oriention ONLY on Tuesday, May 21.                                                    

                    Please arrange NOW with your family to come to campus on that date.

                      Learn about student and family responsibilities

                      Understand Penn State academic planning

                      Network with other families and become part of Penn State

                      Find out about all of the support services for your new Penn

                             State student
