Dr. Judy Ozment was the 2012 Recipient of the Excellent in Honors Teaching Award at this year's Schreyer Honors College Awards Ceremony held on Thursday October 4th at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.
It was a wonderful afternoon in many ways. What was particularly noteworthy about the luncheon to me, was the number of Dr. Ozment's teaching assistants who were there to honor her on this special day. I enjoyed hearing in more detail about Dr. Ozment's teaching of one of the Honors College's signature courses, Leadership JumpStart. This honor not only highlights the extraordinary teachers that can be found at Penn State Abington but highlights the uniqueness of Penn State University.
Dr. Ozment, who had served as the Associate Dean of the Schreyer Honors College and then returned to Penn State Abington in 2010, is able to serve as a bridge between our campus and the University Park campus by continuing to teach this course at Schreyer on weekends throughout the fall semester.
