This year marks the fourth annual Academic Convocation for first-year students on Wednesday August 22nd.  As has become tradition, division meetings will be held that morning and Opening Meeting will be held in the afternoon.

 

On Thursday August 23rd we will hold a new event, a series of Faculty Development Workshops. We hope this is the beginning of a new tradition:  faculty gathering together to learn about and interact around pedagogical and theoretical issues in higher education.

 

This year our panelists are all members of the Penn State Abington faculty and administration. As the program grows we may bring in outside speakers for certain topics and we may expand the number of workshops.  It's a way to bring us together before the year begins, to energize us for the hard work ahead and to share our own good ideas and best practices.
