Prior to first day of classes, all incoming students attend Convocation, the official program that opens the academic year.  Students begin the day with a welcome from the Chancellor and SGA president and a brief keynote from an award winning faculty member.

The day continues with a host of interactive sessions that help prepare students for their transition to college.  The day concludes with a community Barbecue, a game show for students to participate in and win prizes and a tailgate.
