Transfer students who have questions about or who think they may be eligible for one of the following scholarships are welcome to contact Jackie Payrow, the Transfer Counselor, with their questions.
• Many students are automatically reviewed for an academic scholarship when they apply, based on their GPA. Some scholarships are renewable if the student maintains a certain GPA. These scholarships are available for full-time and for part-time students.
• PTK Scholarships are available to students who have been members of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of the Two-Year College, who have earned an Associate Degree, and who have a minimum 3.5 GPA (as calculated by Penn State and including any other institution a PTK member has attended). In addition, Penn State waives the application fee for applicants who are members of PTK. Several scholarships are awarded each year, and each may be renewed for one additional year for students maintaining a 3.3 GPA. Part-time students (with a minimum of one-half time enrollment) are also eligible. Students who have previously earned a Bachelor's degree are not eligible. To be considered for the application fee waiver and/or the PTK Scholarship, a student should provide a photocopy of his or her PTK membership certificate to the Penn State Abington Admissions Office prior to submitting the application. To receive consideration, the suggested deadline for Fall Semester is June 1 and for Spring Semester is October 1. For additional information, contact Jackie Payrow.
• Letter of Intent Scholarships are available to students who have completed an Associate Degree from a Bucks or Montgomery Community College (or Mercer Community College in the Business degree), and who have signed the Letter of Intent prior to their earning 30 or more credits at all institutions they have attended. Students who meet this requirement are also eligible to have their application fee waived by notifying the Penn State Abington Admissions Office prior to submitting their online application. Further information about the Letter of Intent is available:
