As the primary part of the entrance-to-major application process, all Current PSU Students create an online portfolio at Flickr. The Portfolio Review Committee considers work that represents in breadth and depth the development of your art and/or design work. Consider visual, conceptual, and technical proficiency in selecting your best, most recent work. See the slideshow below for tips on producing high quality portfolio photos.

Still images should be high quality .jpg format and a minimum of 1000 pixels in the longest direction. Images can include representations of various media including drawings, paintings, prints, photographs, designs, sculpture, jewelry/metalwork, ceramics, video screen-captures, etc. Time-based works, large-scale installations and videos may be submitted via a video file not to exceed 90 seconds in length or 500 MB size per clip.

The full portfolio submission consists of:

1  |  A PSA Portfolio Album on Flickr.

2  |  A completed Portfolio Submission - Current Student in the right sidebar.

  • Fill out the online form in the right sidebar. Information includes intended area of concentration, name and contact information, a brief written essay and the URL (web address) of the PSA Portfolio Set from Step 1.
  • Type or copy/paste the URL for your PSA Portfolio Set only (not the photostream) into the field indicated in the form.

Click here if you need technical assistance with Flickr. If you are unable to supply digital images or have any questions concerning the process, contact [email protected]. The decision for admission into the major is based on acceptable academic credentials and a successful portfolio review.
