To enrich the studio experience, the Art Program partners with many artists and institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan region, home to one of the most vibrant creative cultures in the nation.

Abington Art Center

Abington Art Center is a major regional art gallery and sculpture park located a short distance from campus. AAC partners with our Program to provide a professional venue for the annual Senior Exhibition and opportunities for student internships.

Bertha Lear Endowment

Robert A. Lear (Penn State '67) and his wife, Marilyn, created the Bertha Lear Endowment to honor and memorialize Bertha Lear’s love of art and to promote art to the students of Penn State Abington. The endowment supports the annual student art exhibition.

TangenT Art Collaborative

Two of the Program’s faculty are members of TangenT Art Collaborative, a group dedicated to mixed media, project-based, immersive art environments exploring socially relevant and politically current themes. TangenT provides opportunities for students to work with professional artists on large-scale installation work of a technically diverse and complex nature.
