In a partnership with the University's nationally recognized College of Education, Abington offers a degree in Secondary Education in Science with two options: a B.S. degree in Biological Science Teaching, and a B.S. degree in Science, Life Science Option with Teaching Certification. Both options provide ample opportunities for undergraduate science research with award-winning senior faculty.
Those who complete either degree will meet all of the academic requirements for the Instructional I certificate for teaching biology at the secondary-school level, issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The purpose of this Secondary Education in Science program is to prepare students to teach the biological sciences in a secondary school environment. Some graduates of the program may wish to advance their careers as secondary science administrators.
Students may enroll as first-year or advanced-standing/transfer students. More Admissions information.
