Acquire the communication skills that employers are seeking.

Students with interest in writing and literature find that the English major provides highly marketable skills in critical thinking, writing, reading, and in analyzing and synthesizing data.

Our English degree students have found internship opportunities at The Advance of Bucks County and Clear Channel. Internships in these and many more areas are available through our Career Development Office.

Employers ranging from emerging Internet companies to international corporations hire English majors to write public relations and marketing materials. Future law students develop expertise in writing and analyzing arguments. Book and magazine publishers hire English majors for editing and sales positions.

Work closely with professional academic and faculty advisors who help create an academic plan. As an option, choose a complementary minor such as Business, History, Psychology, American Studies, or Science.

Graduate from Penn State Abington or transition to an upper-division location like University Park after two years to complete degree.
