The Penn State Abington Health & Wellness Center provides basic health services for students and wellness programs throughout the year. These free services covered by student tuition. The university also offers individual accident and health insurance at a minimal rate.

Events for Fall 2007
Every Step Counts: 8-week walking program for students; each participant will receive: Digi-Walker pedometer, strap, calendar, 10,000 Steps Guide Book & an online membership where they will record their steps and nutritional choices. Info sessions September 11 and 12, Common Break, Physical Education Building, Mezzanine, first 50 students to show up. Printable flyer.

Campuspeak presenter Jim Steffen talks about healthy foods and choosing an active lifestyle. Focuses on healthy mental and physical choices that creat successin all areas of life. Emphasis on goal setting and personal challenges. a good motivator for the participants of the 8 week on line walking program in fall.
What Happy Faces are Hiding: October 24, Common Break, 108 Lares
Campuspeak presenter Ross Szabo wil discuss depression and suicide in the college age students. One in 10 college students experience depression and millions more report overwhelming stress. Ross's message of hope will stress the importance of reaching out, getting support and knowing that students need not suffer in silence.
