2012 Orientation Leader Applications are Now Available!
What is an Orientation Leader?
Student Life is looking for students who are interested in assisting new students in their adjustment to Penn State Abington. Orientation Leaders play an integral role in the orientation program and process. Orientation Leaders are charged with:
- Facilitating small to mid size groups;

Presenting valuable information about campus life and Penn State systems such as eLion, webmail, etc.;

Serving as a college para-professional and an extension of the Student Affairs Division staff;
- Ability showcase campus pride, enthusiasm and approachability.
Requirements of Orientation Leaders
Orientation Leader applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.50 and cannot be on disciplinary probation.
What is the time commitment for an Orientation Leader?
If you apply to be an Orientation Leader, you will be required to commit a significant amount of time and energy to making the program a success. Orientation leaders are paid for their commitment.
Orientation Leaders are permitted to take classes in summer session one only. The time commitment includes the following tentative schedule:

Orientation Leader Luncheon during common break – March 23
-
Orientation Leader Training during spring semester: May 7 – 12 (8am-5pm)

Summer Orientation Dates: May 31 and June 6, June 29; July 6, 13, 20, 27, & August 10, 20, 21

New Student Day on Wednesday August 22
In addition to completing the attached application and reference form, you will sign up for interviews in person at the Lares Information Desk. You may not schedule an interview until you have turned in your application. I will notify Marcia Delia each morning about completed applications that I have received. Once I confirm receipt of your completed application you will be permitted to sign up for an interview.
Please be sure to submit your application no later than 5pm on Friday, January 27, 2012, to Gina Kaufman. Late applications will not be considered.
