ACURA Poster Fair
|
As an ACURA researcher, you will be supervised by a faculty member who will help you learn research skills appropriate to the subject. Of course, you'll begin with a period of familiarization, which may include assigned background readings, instruction in specialized lab techniques, and attendance at regularly-scheduled meetings. From time to time, you may be asked to write short reports on what you have observed or to make presentations to a group. At the end of Spring Semester, you will take part in a poster session, where you will present the results of your work.
Providing you spend at least 3 hours a week on your project and fulfill other requirements agreed to by you and your faculty sponsor, you will receive academic credits.
ACURA offers an alternative to classroom instruction. You'll see the structure, organization, and operations of a real research project, and share in cutting-edge scholarly inquiry. You will work with faculty committed to bias-free, student-friendly research of the highest quality, and you will make contacts who can be invaluable sources of recommendations and advice when you apply for summer internships, graduate school or jobs in research or industry.
